Where are you from?
Born in Providence & raised in East Providence, R.I. I currently reside Reno, NV. 

How were you first introduced to collage
R.I.S.D.

How long have you been working in the medium of collage?
34 years.

Please describe your work.
A world-wide, exclusive documentary on the "Art of Celebration!  This extraordinarily unique medium, which encompasses the entire graphic art history of fireworks from 1850s-present. It is unprecedented.

What materials do you like to work with?
The entire graphic history of firecrackers and fireworks packaging, including wrappers and labels. It is a means of expressing my homage to this "Art of Celebration."

Please describe your process.
Inspired by the Zen enlightened experience I had, when my Grandmother gave my mother a shoebox full of packs of assorted firecrackers (obviously meant for me). It changed my life and inspired me to start collecting and inventing new method of collage, that enabled me to choreograph & display the Art of Fireworks! The interpretive breakthrough in organizing advertising art :(ie) a collage technique of assigning elemental values to the various colored wrapping papers, water= blue, land = green, & sky = varied colors, and juxtaposing them with labels of similar themes.

Do you have any formal art training?
Art training?  Hung around at R.I.S.D & Yale Art & Architecture...also with some various, famous artists.

What other artists do you admire and why?
Artists like Peter Blake, Sgt. Peppers Album cover, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Matisse, Fernandez Arman, and the new realist movement. They all are "outside the box’ ers

Do you collect anything? 
Fireworks ephemera and friends on F.B.

Do you listen to music when you work? 
Some of my best works, and "titles" of works, were inspired by listening to music playing while working.
